Dear Brethren,
It has been a strong Masonic Tradition since the foundation of the Craft that the Brethren of a Lodge be most generous with their purse in support of Lodges. Many Masonic Edifices have been built and Maintained by that generosity.

The Gate of the Temple Lodge’s Building itself was constructed by that generosity. A trust fund was established by the early membership to pay for repairs, upgrades, remodeling and the major maintenance necessary for the health and appearance of our loved building. All of you are aware of the need to replace the Heating and Air Conditioning System and has been long overdue. Likewise our kitchen has been badly in need of extensive remodeling and installation of an exhaust hood with a fire suppression system. Our roof has been leaking and in need of replacement for a long time. All of these problems have been addressed and appropriate replacements and repairs have been made within the last year—and paid for out of our Building Maintenance trust fund. At this writing, the Dining room’s new hardwood floor, repainting of the walls and ceiling and new drapes for the windows are still pending and need volunteers and money to complete them.

Brethren, we need to replace the $250,000.00 that has nearly completely exhausted our Building Trust Fund. Indeed, that old foe—INFLATION--will in future make us wish the amount would be $500,000.00 or even a Million Dollars. For now, we must concentrate on replacing the ¼ million dollars that we have already spent; because it is inevitable that more and costly repairs will be needed in the future.

I ask each and every one of you to make a monetary donation to the Lodge Building Fund. I ask you to be as generous in your giving as you can be, “without serious injury to yourself and family”. You may make your donation when you send in your dues. You can also send in annual donation with your dues payment, if you cannot afford to send all that you would wish in a lump sum.

If you cannot afford cash, then please consider an in kind donation of your time by volunteering your painting, carpentering, cooking, plumbing etc. skills instead. Your labor is valuable. Any labor you perform of your own freewill and accord will save our cash to pay for needed supplies or for repairs that we cannot do for ourselves.

Please remember, your positive contribution to your Lodge is an Old Masonic Tradition.

Replenishment Of The Endowment Fund

If you were at the recent Stated meeting you heard my request for an increase of $15 per year to replenish the general fund. This is to rebuild the general fund for the funds used to pay for building improvements. I had made several request for people to get involve in this comity. Some shy away from this area. I hate to be the bearer of bad news however this issue needs to be addressed.

So please post your thoughts. I will give the opportunity to have one last comity meeting to discuss the matter. If you would like to attend please notify me before Aug. 10th

We've been working hard to bring our lodge into the Mellenia. The Lodge has made great effort to update services and restore our great lodge from it's deprived state. This has taken a great amount of money.
